Welcome to our online meeting place for free software activists to share news, tactics and resources! This wiki was started during the 2006 FSF Associate Member Meeting to help organize ways to bring free software as a movement "into the mainstream."

We started by organizing the FSF members at the 2006 meeting into groups based on geography. They then brainstormed ideas for how to organize people around issues central to the free software movement, and posted those ideas on a wiki page titled after their region. You can read those ideas on the pages linked to from the 2006 Member Meeting page.

My To Do List

One of the purposes of the LibrePlanet wiki is to connect free software supporters with each other. Create a profile. Add yourself to the appropriate regional group page. Start collaborating!

Write texts others might find useful. Add my group's free software events to Current events and projects/activities to Community Portal. Help with priority projects. Read and improve our Activism Guide for effective action. Help improve the LibrePlanet's project foundational documents. Start a LibrePlanet group in my area. Remember to request materials from the FSF at info@fsf.org when I organize or attend a free software event.
